2024 Utah HS Musical Theatre Awards Costuming Finalist

This award was for the combined effort of several students and our stagecraft costuming teacher, Melody Hadfield at Liahona Preparatory Academy.

I was responsible for deigning and preparing two costumes:

GREASEBALL

I based my design on Elvis and fire. I researched, designed, procured costume base pieces. Embellishments included hand-dyed ombre fire laces down the legs, fire additions to his skates, shoulder pieces, and vinyl fire to his vest and helmet.

MAMA

This happened to be the character I was also playing in the production. I needed a patchwork style to match Rusty's costume but also representative of an older, female character. I found a jumper and shirt, altered the legs, added a belt, shoulder embellishments and painted the helmet an industrial bronze.

1st Place Costumes

This award was for the fastest time assisting with a costume change at the Utah Shakespeare Festival Competition.
